As a consequence of BASC withdrawing their legal defence cost policy, coupled with the increase in the political pressure on the police when issuing and renewing gun and firearms licences, BBL were asked to create an alternative stand-alone legal defence costs policy for gun and firearms licence holders. This policy provides legal defence costs when a gun or firearms licence holders is challenged by the police during the policy period.
